How I Work
Starting therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might not be sure what to expect, or even how to begin — that's completely okay.
We'll start wherever you are. You don't need to have it all worked out or know exactly what to say. We can take things at your pace, and make space for whatever feels important.
I work in a flexible way, shaped around you. Some sessions might be about talking things through and getting a clearer sense of how things are affecting you. At other times, we might notice patterns, explore past experiences, or gently look at what might need to change.
Alongside this, we can also focus on what's already helping, your strengths, and small, realistic steps that support movement and change.
What matters most to me is creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself — where you can speak openly, without feeling judged, rushed, or analysed.
Sometimes I bring in elements of mindfulness, if it feels helpful — simply as a way of slowing things down and connecting with what's happening in the moment.
I won't tell you what to do or offer quick fixes. We work together so that, over time, you can understand yourself more clearly and find a way forward that feels right for you.
Who this is for
Who I work with
I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy — many people arrive with a sense that something isn't quite right, even if they can't yet put it into words.
You might be feeling:
- overwhelmed, anxious, or low
- stuck in patterns that are hard to shift
- affected by past experiences or childhood difficulties
- struggling in relationships — with others or with yourself
- dealing with grief, loss, or change
- questioning your direction, identity, or sense of purpose
Or you may simply want a space to pause, reflect, and understand yourself more deeply.
I also have a particular interest in men's mental health, and the challenges men can face in opening up or feeling able to talk about what's going on.
I bring a multicultural perspective to my work and welcome people from diverse backgrounds. For some, working with a therapist who understands aspects of cultural identity and lived experience can make it easier to feel at ease and speak openly.
Whatever you're bringing, you're welcome to come as you are.
