About Sylvain
"Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair."— Rumi

My story
Sometimes life just feels… a bit much. You might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure about where you're heading. Or maybe things look fine on the outside, but inside something doesn't quite sit right.
Talking can help — especially when you have a space where you don't have to filter yourself or worry about being judged.
I offer a calm, down-to-earth space where you can talk things through at your own pace. Together, we can begin to understand what's going on for you, notice patterns that might be holding you back, and gently explore what change could look like.
I've been working as a psychotherapist since 2006, supporting people through a wide range of challenges — including anxiety, low mood, difficult past experiences, relationship struggles, substance use, grief, and questions about direction or purpose.
There's no one-size-fits-all way of doing therapy. I work in a flexible, integrative way, adapting to you rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model. What matters most to me is building a genuine, respectful relationship where you feel heard and understood.
I bring a multicultural and holistic perspective to my work. I'm interested in the whole of who you are — your emotions, your story, your background, and what gives your life meaning.
I've also been involved in work around men's mental health, and I welcome conversations around the challenges men can face in opening up or feeling understood.
I hold a postgraduate qualification in Integrative and Pluralistic Counselling and have been working as a psychotherapist since 2006. I work under regular professional supervision and am committed to maintaining a safe, ethical, and reflective practice.
Whoever you are, and whatever you're bringing, you're welcome to come as you are.
Sessions are available in English and French.
How I work
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might not be sure what to expect, or even how to begin — that's completely okay.
We'll start wherever you are. You don't need to have it all worked out or know exactly what to say. We can take things at your pace, and make space for whatever feels important.
I work in a flexible way, shaped around you. Some sessions might be about talking things through and getting a clearer sense of how things are affecting you. At other times, we might notice patterns, explore past experiences, or gently look at what might need to change.
What matters most to me is creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself — where you can speak openly, without feeling judged, rushed, or analysed.
Sometimes I bring in elements of mindfulness, if it feels helpful — simply as a way of slowing things down and connecting with what's happening in the moment.
I won't tell you what to do or offer quick fixes. We work together so that, over time, you can understand yourself more clearly and find a way forward that feels right for you.
A particular interest
Men's mental health
I've been involved in work around men's mental health, and I welcome conversations around the challenges men can face in opening up or feeling understood. I have a particular interest in how cultural expectations can make it harder for men to talk about what's going on.
